It could go higher, but PS/2 Model Ms seem to be going for ~$50-60 of late. If you keep your eye on it, you might be able to grab it for less. It needs some cleaning up, but it doesn't appear to be in terrible shape.

Anyone looking for a Model M should jump on this. Nice find nubbinator!
-
Somebody here is already high bidder on this one. Cough cough.
-
Just to give you guys an alternative, how about 99 cents plus shipping? ;))

Yes you do! Totally worth every penny.

The Model M is the foundation stone of any serious "regular" keyboard collection.
If your esoterica stretches around and behind the Model M, then you are a collector or historian.
-
I need this Model M....no one bid on it-please! ;)
-
Currently it is twice the cost (i expect this auction to rise) but i would highly recommend this as another way to get a Model M http://www.ebay.com/itm/140523499984?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
They arrive already cleaned up even on the insides and mine arrived like new. I think the seller is restores each one to like-new condition. Just sayin.....

This is absolutely the truth, I don't know why it took me so long to own a Model M. I feel like my keyboard collection is finally legit.

So it is really bad that I threw both of mine away about 2002, both with 5 pin din connectors, one I think was from about 1986.

Yep, sad that they were discarded. I hope neither of them was an SSK!

Dang, some guy bid $28 with 20 seconds left...Too expensive for me lol

Too expensive for me lol
These days, $39 shipped is about as good as you are going to see a working M with all its caps, even a 52G ...
-
$40 too expensive? If your short on cash i mean i do understand--I've been terribly broke before, but i can't stress enough after using my model m for a few days now as my secondary, $60 shipped buys you something like-new that is essential to any keyboard enthusiast. Seriously i keep asking myself after almost a year being on geekhack why did it take me so long to own a Model M. I'm obviously obsessed with my ergodox but this thing is already second in my list of favorites of everything i own.
-
I say it's too much because I'm pretty happy with my Topre 60% right now. I don't have any real desire to get any other board besides a lubed Ergo Clear ErgoDox, so my thinking was that if I can get a Model M for $30, then cool, but if not, I'm $30 closer to an ErgoDox. If I bought the Model M it would mostly be used for gaming, which would be less than ideal because of full layout, heavy BS switches and 1KRO though I don't play FPS much.

You can still try to get this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/181174747498
Used Ms on clickykeyboards are going for $90 now. THAT'S too high. $50 shipped is a pretty good deal these days. Too bad we weren't in the market a couple of years ago when they went for $30 all day long.
-
Realistically, it costs $15-17 to ship a Model M, so under $40 shipped is really quite cheap. Considering that the online sellers charge $30 for a complete set of keycaps, well, do the math.
Prices seem to be up quite a bit in recent weeks and months.
I have had several black label 1991s and they were very nice, a solid and dependable vintage for not much price premium.

Is that a PS/2 connection? I'm clueless.
-
It sure looks like it, but you can always ask the seller to make sure.

The 52G is a Lexmark model with attached PS2 cord.
The wikipedia entry on the IBM Model M is very helpful.
