Title: Synopsys - Capacitive touch keyboard
Post by: Calyx on Fri, 19 July 2013, 14:38:13
Interesting...  http://www.inewidea.com/2013/01/13/51815.html (http://www.inewidea.com/2013/01/13/51815.html)

"Since each key becomes a small touchpad, the key structure changes from traditional scissor structure into 45 degree press slope structure. It will sense user depress force by pressing on, and it will show bold font by strong press and the words will be in italics by tapping."

Interesting feature, but not very useful to me. I always type the whole article first, then format it properly.

Sounds like a bad idea to me, either way this will happen way too often by accident and will mess your text up, or it will require too much learning or too much time to register so it would be faster doing it manually. I don't think this will get popular.

sounds like an interesting idea for a sealed keyboard, that could be water prood and convert to a keyboard shaped digitizer if they did it up right.

Prolly a pain to touch type on if they did thougfh

Sounds like the key action will feel atrocious.
