Title: Suggestions for a set for my Filco Camo?
Post by: Puddsy on Mon, 22 July 2013, 11:37:01
I'm drawing a blank here. I can't find anything I like.

I'm leaning towards a white mods with black letter keys type thing, but I'm not sure.

Anything helps, I'm having a lot of trouble deciding.

Pretty much designed for the Camo boards haha. I myself went oldschool WYSE for mine :D

I'll also recommend those military-inspired caps.  They are amazing.  I would love to own a set myself if I had a spare keyboard that didn't already have a theme planned out and invested in another group buy.

There's also some good stuff in the below thread, including my awful attempt at putting some Filco yellow keys on my old camo board :D

DSA Retro with Brown mods and green accents also looks amazing in the Camo.

A was about to recommend the Sanctuary set, but then I actually thought about what it would look like and almost vomited...

What do you think about this set?

I don't like the commando set, SA and DSA caps aren't really my thing.

I was also thinking dolch. I might buy dolch (from originative) for another one of my boards.

That was another set I thought of as being nice.  Classic white and beige.  But might be too busy for that case.

Well then!  I think you should combine all of our suggestions onto your Filco, including the different profiles ;)

The case is silly enough. I'll probably just use the beige/white set.

If you like blanks and could deal with DSA after all, you could get blank PBT sets directly from SP.  they come in white, green, and black "mix and match"--you could make some suitable combination.

They also have simple DS white sets there.

I'll skip the DSA.

I was thinking about a black on white set. $60 is a pretty good price. I've also got 3 other boards to cap, so cheaper is better.

If you want cheaper and simple, go with thin PBT sets.  Like qtan's online store has some:

White side printed, top printed, etc.  Some sets on eBay too from him and Feng (usually costs more there), and some sets on mechanicalkeyboards.com

How do you even type on that with all the different profiles?

^^^^ This.... spend more and really enjoy them, not just buy something for less, use them for few months and then trying to sell them.... That set would be perfest for cammo boards + the keycaps are thick and the 2nd shot looks beefy copmpared to the DSA and DCS
