Title: 55g and 62g spring
Post by: turtle on Tue, 23 July 2013, 10:13:16
Hi I have purchased 55g and 62g springs from a recent gb. I am planning to use 62g on my clears (heard a lot of prefer that set up). I am wondering if anyone use 55g and what switch you use? Trying to put these in use! Thanks in advance for the help!

55g are far too light for me and I didn't even bother looking into them. I did try 62g and documented my thoughts in a review thingy (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=44749.0). I've heard people like 55g Clears and Whites but I've mostly ignored that spring weight.

I use 55g ergoclears. My favorite switch, even though I know not every one will like it. It's fine for typing, but I don't like it for gaming (although it can be used). I just type alot on it. 55g clears aren't meant for use on modifier keys either, imo. I do it with a mix of ergoclears and browns for mods.

62g on the other hand, feels too stiff for me, but I've always preferred light switches.

I went from using the very light MX red switches to 62g clears on my Poker.

I have to say. The heavier weight feels so much better as it feels more like a cushion than strain.

I bottom out and avoid misclicks more than when I used a lighter spring. So, I would say go with the 62g spring, and maybe lube them (don't know how this feels yet but have read that it just has a nicer feel to them).
