Hi there!
My name is shrapneL. I am 23 years old and I am from Ohio, USA. My interest in keyboards (especially of the mechanical type) started a year or two ago. I started out with the Razer Blackwidow with blue cherry mx switches. Since I usually wear headphones at my computer, I never really noticed how loud the keys were until my friends starting telling me. This is really when I started to research keyboards. I came across someone who really liked the black switches for they are much quieter than the blue switches. I ended up doing a little research on the more consumer branded keyboards, and I came across the CM Storm QFR with black switches. This keyboard has been my main for about a year now, and I enjoy it quite a bit!
Fast forward to a few weeks ago. I forget how, but I stumbled onto geekhack's site and found all of the cool and interesting stuff on this site. Of course I checked out the group buy area, and, man, I really want to get into building a keyboard of my own! Around this time I also found deskthority. Both of these sites have some wonderful information to feed my obsession for keyboards now.
Well, thanks for checking me out. I hope to meet some of you great people in the coming weeks and months!
Cheers!

Whereabouts in Ohio are you at?

Welcome. If you like blues but think they're too loud, look into mx whites with lighter springs, or ergo clears.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll definitely look into it. Oh, and I really enjoy your videos on yt. They are one of the main reasons why I want to get into making my own kb. So thanks for making them! :D
