Title: Making HexChat exec a text file of commands
Post by: alosec on Fri, 09 August 2013, 23:02:35
Someone in an IRC told me that this was possible but I haven't figured out how to do it.

I want to have my IRC client (HexChat) exec two commands when I connect to GameSurge:
/authserv AUTH alosecs *****
/umode +x

This will log me into the GameSurge network and mask my IP and location from everyone when I join the channel.

Not sure if this will work in Hexchat, but it's all I can find, and maybe it's still similar enough. https://toxin.jottit.com/xchat_connect#10

If the first command doesn't work you might have to use "/quote authserv" or "/msg authserv@services.gamesurge.net" instead.

I think this is exactly what I was looking for... Pretty sure you just googled it, but you googled it better than me. Thanks mate.

And that's the whole of the tech support industry. Enjoy. :)
