Hi Geekhack members,
Just wanted to introduce myself as I am hoping to pop a few questions on the forum as well as trying to contribute as much as I can. My board just died on me and would like to get some advice about perhaps building my own but I'll save that for the appropriate sub.
Anyways, I look forward to spending some time here.
Cheers,
ElBandid0
Mike.

Thus far, my disposable income can't seem to go anywhere. I'm trying to find/buy/build the keyboard that I really want but can not seem to make it happen. I don't suppose anyone would know a place to buy a tenkeyless that comes in grey/light grey? Aluminium would also work but I imagine mucho money would have to be spent.
And thanks for the correction!

this is in grey.
what switches do you think you want?
tactile? linear? clicky?
tactile = brown/clear
linear = red/black
clicky = blue/green
first choice is less stiff than the second choice (ex. brown is less stiff than clear, but both are tactile).
if you want something other than blues, Cooler Master sells the Quickfire Rapid that comes in a light grey case I think (not too sure).

Welcome! People here do build their own... but mostly in kit form, with your own choice of switches and key caps. Unfortunately, there is no "normal" keyboard project open right now.

That is actually a really nice board. I have in fact already owned the QFR (modified) and is the board that I mentioned in my first post that died (picture album below if you fancy having a look). I would want to get mx blacks again preferably, do you know if that keycool comes in them? Also does it use 'standard' keycap sizes? As in I could fit it out with some from WASD?
Ideally this is the board that I am trying to recreate, all be it on a smaller (not as nice) scale:

Here is my modded QFR if you wanted to see, sad I know but I miss him already (died today, wound is still fresh):

And here is the damn capacitor or resistor that burnt!:

Thanks for taking the time to help! It's appreciated.

Findecanor, that's a shame to hear. I've been looking at this and drooling. :)
