I don't use FF, I mostly use Opera, although I'm currently testing to see if I've figured out how to do it in Chrome.
But for some reason editing the script in Opera seems to be more difficult, I can't figure out how you do more than just debug it.

You can import your old save, though you won't keep any of the buildings, what happens is that you get the cost refunded so you get quite a large chunk of cookies to start with.
Although the new version is a bit quicker, by the time it was possible to import the old save I had nearly gotten that far after starting from scratch in the new version.
