Hi, i have a brother 2240d printer which i actually really like. My problem is only that the toner i bought is pretty sad. Since the toner is almost done, i like to buy a new toner cartridge but i wonder if there is a good offbrand that i can use and that produces a good quality print out.
Refilling my self i don't want to do since it is also toxic anyway. Or i buy the genuine toner cartridge from brother. Mm... Anyone has a tip for me which brand or non brand is ok so i don't have to go through buying.
Thanks
p.s. last time i bought some toner of amazon i think. just ok not great. one side is thin in black. :(

Personally I would tend to stick to the manufacturer's toner. I acquired a nearly new Dell colour laser printer because it was making a loud grinding noise, and the person did not want to get it repaired.
Turns out the problem is almost certainly the non-Dell magenta cartridge.
Thing is, it is $70 for magenta from Dell. One day I might get around to it, but need black too, so $140.
Or just buy another new printer with the factory toner and dispose of the old one - with careful selection this could turn out to be cheaper.

I have a Xerox 6505 that I recently replaced the black toner with a cartridge I bought from Meritline for ~$18. It detects as official Xerox toner and prints just as good.

Ah, well the original toner is most likely always expensive. I feel you just pay for the brand mostly and it is even almost as expensive as the printer itself. The original brother toner cost about $60, printer itself runs about $100.
But i will try the Meritline, although i seen the same cartridges on Amazon as well. Thanks for the tip. :thumb:

I'VE NEVER TRIED IT, BUT PERHAPS THERE COULD BE A WAY TO REFILL THE POWDER IN THE TONER CARTRIDGE? I'VE USED INK REFILL KITS WITH MY INKJET PRINTERS AND HAVE HAD GOOD RESULTS.
