That's been around for a while.....

Price was $50 + shipping, now is ridiculous. Forget this seller unless he drops the price.

Agreed.
Send him an email, let him know you saw his ad referred to on GeekHack, and ask if he'll cut you the same deal he did other folks here, and sell you one for $50 plus shipping. I bought one at that price, even picked it up in person (I worked nearby).
Wouldn't hurt. Maybe see if he'll take $100 for both (?) remaining units, and sell the other one in Classifieds.

what is the different between this and a deck?

no dont tell ebay sellers that there are people who overvalue keyboards, it drives up prices and screws everybody over esp. when this should be a 30-50 dollar board tops

what is the different between this and a deck?
Nothing. Same company. Deck is the brand name they use for their "gaming" keyboards.
The TG3 keyboards were used in emergency vehicles, mostly. Oh, and they don't have that odd semi-italic Deck font on the caps. :-X

exactly. I am getting tired of hearing sellers refer to geekhack. Mind you, many of these people won't admit that they never even tested their keyboards. EG they will say, geekhack people know how to make something work with soarer/ See, my stuff is tested with soarer. I deliberately pretend to know nothing and ask, what is soarer? Do you have it? Show me a photo of this soarer adapter or converter you are talking about?
ANd the seller never replies again.
I am getting to the point where I don't want to share any more 'good deals' even if I am not personally taking advantage of the deal. The reason is not selfishness, but because I don't want to inflate prices anymore. Several things I've posted on have sold very quickly or else have seen their prices raised after I posted here. It's just hurting market prices for everyone in the long run.

OMG, I can't believe the seller nearly doubled the price recently :-X
They should have known how troublesome we faced when we deal with this board to make it work completely:
- Duck-tape, oh yeah, finger cut too :'(
- Led handling options

What the ****! same board, don't have that font, why there still people buying deck? ^-^
I came from hong kong(now in usa), and i know there are tone of people pay more than 200USD on a deck.
I just can't believe that

There may be other differences (NKRO?) but as far as I can tell most of them are purely cosmetic. The small Deck keyboards come with a translucent surround piece, so LED colors show to the sides, but you can buy the same case surround from TG3 directly.
To be fair, we're comparing used/surplus models with PS2 connectors and (sometimes) 12V LEDs to brand new Deck units with USB connectors and 5V LEDs + custom caps. The Deck Ice is $145 on their website, while the used TG3-BL82's are selling for $50.
Let's say you bought a used TG3-BL82 for $50 plus $10 in shipping, then another $15 from Deck for one of their colored cases, and then another $15 for a PS2 to USB converter from the GeekHack store - you're already up to $90 for a used keyboard. I used prices for MX Blacks, that's all I can see for sale on Deck's website.

I think of it as a way to try out their products for cheap, and maybe down the line I'll buy a full-size Deck keyboard. So far I am really impressed with TG3's build quality, these little keyboards are massively overbuilt compared to other boards at that price.
Now I have to try TheChemist's voltage mod, see if I can get those LEDs working... :p

I think the tg3 boards are all only 2kro. The deck boards have a windows key and the tg3 branded ones don't. Not sure if there are any other differences.

The Deck 82 does have a nicer rugged steel backplate while the BL-82 doesn't. And yes BL-82 is only 2KRO while the Deck is NKRO.
All MX Clear BL-82s have 12 V LEDs so will not work on standard computer connections. These are new; back when they were $50 I still resisted because the only advantage is MX Clears and replacement Deck 82 keycaps without the weird font.
