Title: What is the different between these two keycaps?
Post by: jonathanyu on Thu, 15 August 2013, 01:13:03
I have found that there are two website that selling the GMK beige keyset. One is kbdmod, and the other one is originative.
http://kbdmod.com/product/detail.html?product_no=16&cate_no=12&display_group=1 (http://kbdmod.com/product/detail.html?product_no=16&cate_no=12&display_group=1)
https://www.originativeco.com/shop/keysets/product/84-classic-beige-keyset-blue-font (https://www.originativeco.com/shop/keysets/product/84-classic-beige-keyset-blue-font)
So, is there any different between them?
And also, is there any "F" and "J" match this set but not scooped?

They're exactly the same AFAIK, and no I don't think you can get any non-scooped maching F&J caps, and if you can they'll be original Cherry keycaps.

No, there isn't anywhere you can get F&J caps made by GMK. You can only get them in the full sets from Sherry/kbdmod or from original Cherry doubleshot sets. I'm unsure whether there are any original Cherry sets with non-scooped F&J keys. If there are.. those are the only place you will find them. If not, then they do not exist.

The one place I know you can get non-scooped F&J's are those PBT dyesub or doubleshot alpha sets from vintage mx compatible typewriters (looking at my set here).  For examples, consult this thread http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=36189.180

Nearly all Cherry and GMK sets will have scooped FJ keys. The most common exception to that are Desko BMOL (with center dots) and old Cherry based TA/Royal/etc typewriter (no homing indicators at all, just flat like every other letter). I will probably include alternate FJ with center dot like the numpad 5 in my GMK groupbuys. It won't be until September for the next buy starting though.

Missed your group buy  :( Wait for your next group buy

Can you include a scooped 5?

Since i am using TKL, scooped 5 isn't a big problem
