Been reading for a while and all of a sudden I want clacks.

I'm an engineer and I have a couple HHKB2s. Just ordered a custom USB cable from a forum member. What's happening to me

You may notice some ... changes as you grow into your new hobby.  They might make you feel uncomfortable at first, but rest assured they are perfectly normal.  It's all part of growing up and becoming a keyboard enthusiast.
