If you want a spacesaver with brown cherries, there is only one model I am aware of. And that is the Filco mini.

that's expensive i assume, does benippon sell those?
-
Don't know about benippon but crescent-shopping can hunt one down for you.

and yes, there is an excessive cost associated with these keyboards.
-
Doesnt cherry have some space saver models with browns like the g84???
-
The ErgoPlus aka MX 5000.

The ErgoPlus aka MX 5000.
isnt that a membrane model?
-
No, Cherry browns.

The ErgoPlus aka MX 5000.
where to get the brown switch version?
-
You could get a Compaq MX 11800, they're not as small as the HHKB but they're still smaller in width than the standard layout.
-

It's not made anymore. You can only get it on ebay, in average one auction every two months.

And they (G80-5000) go for $500+ American not including shipping. Better off buying 3 Filco minis.
What about the DSI modular? Might cost the same as a Filco mini but it also has brown Cherry switches and roughly the same footprint.

He's in Portugal, he can buy it on ebay Germany if the seller agrees to ship to Europe. The last one went for ~$40. If I hadn't bid it would have gone for $5.
-
Well we should do some sort of a business arrangement. Those things are like M15s here.

I wonder how much it costs to ship to the US. If an Ergo Plus comes up, it might be nice to have one of our German members help our non-German members get ahold of one.
-
Shipping should be 31 Euros, that's about $40, I think. I put in estimated values for weight and size though.

That crossed my mind already. :)

I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. I absolutely love my Topre Realforce 86.
I was talking about selling those Cherry keyboards over here.

It went for EUR 40.61 exactly. (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=110291848937) If I hadn't bid on it either, it would have gone for $1. :D

That is if you don't mind the reverse-L shaped return key, the shorter left shift and the 'weird' keycaps symbols.

Awwwwwwwww I must have missed that last one then. Congrats on that 41EUR one then, great price. :)

I might get one here in Portugal, the problem is i dont know if it uses black or brown switches.....
-
I wonder if there's some data sheet for this model???
-
Just found the G80-5000 for 23€. Now i need to see if it uses brown switches......
-
Just got the full model number: Cherry G80-5000 HAMPO /02
How do i know the switches it uses??
-
AFAIK, the G80-5000 was only made with brown switches. If the price is real make sure you get the numpad too, the model number is G80-5700.
Good find! Please ask them, how many they have in stock for that price, also how many numpads. :)
Edit: the PO in the model number is the country code, most likely Portugal, I guess you can consider yourself very lucky.

Are you interested????im might get one for you, the only downside is the keys which is the Portuguese one.

I think I am, esp. in the numpad, which might be standard.

Let me get the confirmation first. And see if they have more than one.......
-
Well they have the one num pad. One.
-
Then by all means take it, those sell currently for Eur 25 - 30 here.
How many keyboards do they have? :)
-
They also confirmed the brown switches. It seems this is the only "company" which has these keyboards. They have branches, in many cities, diferent branches answered my email, saying they have in stock, so i can get at least more than one.
-
I'd take one if it's possible.
-
I'd take one if it's possible.
Ill probably get three at that price.....lol, i will see them today. talk to you later.....:P
-
I would take one for sure!
-
I want one too, because I want to paint mine black, and I don't want be left without if I break it. :)
BTW, how is the portuguese layout compared to US? Do you have a picture?
Edit: here's one guy that as far as I see wants to do exactly what I want with it:

-
I might get more, ill let you guys soon, they also have more cherry models in there. In mint condition.
-
Is it mail order or a local place?
I would love to try one of those.
-
I'd be interested in one too, depending upon price and shipping cost to the US...
