Hi.
I have a question about a Cherry G81. Do the only have 2 key rollover regardless if you use USB or PS/2.
Thanks

the more important question is... Why not get the ergodox.. only $250 assembled and shipped to your door.
-
Or the more important question.. Why on earth would you want a G81? They use Cherry MY switches which are considered awful by 99% of those who've tried them.

USB usually works up to 6KRO, so if a keyboard only has 2KRO on either PS2 or USB you won't increase it by switching it to another port. So if you already have one and it has 2KRO, it stays on 2KRO, no matter the port. If you don't have the board yet, nope, no idea which KRO it has.

If it has 2kro on PS2, it's not going to get bigger on USB. But who needs all those keys pressed at the same time when you have the most awesome keyboard on the planet!

Add a little for keycaps! ;)

Mine was like $270 including keycaps *and* shipping.

Was that also assembled?

Nope, assembly was basically free (after shipping).

I was just wondering because i was gonna buy one for cheap and possible use it for gaming also.

If you're gaming, I'd advise against an ergodox (Partially because the layout is for typing, partially because I don't like the ergodox).
Just save up for a QFR. That's probably your best option right now for cheap a cheap mech.

Ooooor...
Stick with the G81! It's the best keyboard ever!

How is ergodox worse than any gaming keypad (nostromo and such)?

As far as I know all G81 are 2KRO. If you just want something cheap for gaming, I suggest to get used G80-1000 series. Like this 1501 (http://www.ebay.de/itm/CHERRY-Tastatur-G80-1501HAD-/370878202854?pt=DE_Computing_Tastaturen_Keypads&hash=item565a1043e6) for example. They have NKRO on PS/2 but if you use a good active adapter you can keep 6KRO when convert to usb connection if needed.

Cherry G81 keyboards are membrane, so they will be 2KRO. (It's only a basic matrix, no anti-ghosting shenanigans like resistances.)
-
most G80/G81-3000 keyboards are 2KRO.
also way to drive a derail guys (aka stfu)
