Hey guys.
Could somebody point me out how to manually change the switches on your board? Cause i would totally switch the browns from my keyboards for some green or clear MX.
Also where do i buy some switches? i need about 65-ish for my poker board.
Many thanks to you guys i know you'll make it easy lol.

Basically, you have 2 main options:
1. If your keyboard is pcb mounted OR has a special custom plate with holes to open the switches, then you can simply open the switches, remove the stem and spring, and replace them with the ones you want since it's the stem and spring that makes the difference.
2. You need to desolder your switches and replace them with the other ones and solder them again.

No, any board with a stock plate won't be removable. You would need to put in a plate for yourself. So the Poker 2 wouldn't work. And I'm not exactly sure where the 7bit buy is but DT = Deskthority. It's another keyboard enthusiast site, mainly Euro-centric.

:/ I'm kinda no willing to destroy my beautiful Poker II board to try some new switches but it would be such uniqueness holding the power of MX greens...

I figured they wont get cheaper...
So I got enough switches to have some stock for the next couple of years ^^

Nah it's just that i never really modified an 100% built electrical circuit. I really don't want to **** it up as it is incredibly good the way it currently is.
It could be better with MX Greens but i'll hold grudge against myself if i create some flaws in the board... :x

I never messed with electrical circuits until I came to GeekHack and learned. Are you incapable of learning new things? I just don't understand this logic people have where they say "Oh, I've never done it so I can't do it." You do know there's a ton of people who can help you learn and then help you fix your problems here right?

To be fair...
I messed up the first PCB I desoldered (one switch got some solder left on one pin, popping it out fuxxored a solderpad).
After that I got proper desoldering gear and started working much more carefully, no such accidents so, lessong learned ;)

The info is pretty neat. I read it all and it's very informative, def going to check the videos when i'm out of the job to see visual examples of what you wrote. I'm pretty sad i bought a keyboard that requires desoldering and soldering for mods :/ I would probably went different if i was aware of that.
I did soldering and desoldering in Cegep but that really isn't my field of confort. I'm a very shaky person and this is why i'm not very confident about doing that.
Also there's a little "Mistake" if i might say, For the poker two at chapter 6 you say for Plate mount go to chapter 7, and afterwards in chapter 7 you send me back to chapter 6. @_@ That's a little confusing maybe you should look into that. I understand the reference for chapter 6 but i still think it's a little confusion lol.

In chapter 6 I send you to chapter 7 if you have a "solderless" plate, which you don't if you have a stock Poker II.

Ok reading again i understand now.
I was a little confused i didn't understand at first read.
Anyway imma give it further readings after job today. Thanks again for the heads up that's pretty neat.
