This is pretty interesting. There are definitely some design issues, but it might work. I think it would take a while to get used to, and you can't trick it out with you favorite color Cherrys.

It looks gimmicky to me. Wouldn't it require more force to type upwards? Also, I think my hands would feel tired sooner from holding them in a grip whilst typing.

Good point. Since you would have to press down with your palms while you press up with you fingers, that could be both tiring and inefficient. It would just depend on how light the key acton was. Besides that, it might give you some sweaty palms. :P

I honestly can't imagine the circumstances under which that ... thing ... would be a good idea. As a writer, I spend 80% of my time with my hands only vaguely on the keyboard, staring blankly into space while my mind works. Am I really supposed to hold this thing in mid-air? None for me, thanks.
It looks like something the props dept. on a low-budget sci-fi show would come up with.
