Hi everyone! I have recently discovered this whole universe of mechanical keyboards and customization and I have learned so much in the past month. There is soooo much on this forum.
I have never ever used or been able to find a mechanical keyboard to try in a store. I bought one of each Cherry MX switch (blue/brown/black/red) to try and I am torn between the blue and brown. I play games (world of warcraft... i know...) and type an even amount.
Also, as my first keyboard, I really really like what I see from Vortex. However it seems like they are impossible to find on the internet and no one really describes how to acquire one. The company only has a facebook page with cool pictures of products, but no place to buy. Can anyone share any insight on what routes are available to get one of these?
Thanks guys!

Buy Vortex boards used in the classifieds or through vendors like MechanicalKeyboards.com, TechKeys.us, and I think Pexon's site soon.
Oh and welcome to Geekhack!

Thanks CPTBadAss for the guidance!
I saw mechanicalkeyboards.com before and they seemed to be sold out of EVERYTHING. Guess Vortex are either highly coveted or rarely produced? Also, where is Pexon's site?
btw cptbadass, I see you are from Cincinnati, OH. I used to live there before I moved to AZ a couple months ago ^^

Cool. I just moved to Cincy myself.
Vortex is just weird. They're bad at doing business: hard to get a hold of, weird stock, quality control issues at least on the Poker X. If you really want a Poker 2, get from TechKeys.us. Pexon's site? Just search for Pexon in the classifieds. I don't actually know his address off the top of my head.

+1 on Votex being bad at business. Consider a different keyboard?

Well Ive since bought a keycool 84 with brown switches and yellow leds from MK.com. I really like it and I am solidly hooked into mechanical keyboards.
About the vortex thing, apparently it is a one man business.. which could explain the issues about the company. However, the pure pro with LEDs is coming out and over at Massdrop they are having a buy for a preproduction run. I have joined that for blue switches. The choices for keycaps are either blank PBT, printed PBT, or shinethrough ABS. I CANNOT DECIDE. I want PBT so badly but I would use the keyboard frequently at night and would really like/need the LEDs to come through. So ive been searching all over the internet for PBT keycaps to fit the pure pro so I can have both. Not much luck so far.
