yes it fits.
but the leds have to be modded, It's quite hard to, because you have to drill through the metal plate.

Or you could remove the LEDs completely if you don't need them. I think that would be an easier option
EDIT: Scratch what I said, for some reason I thought that the QFR had Filco styled LEDS and that the case din't have those pre-drilled. Dumb me ;D

yup.. drilling through the metal plate is dangerous. I did it without a drill press, because my dad didn't tell me we had a drill press.
if you have a drill press, it's damn easy. without a drill press.. You'd need to measure out the depth carefully, and tape the drill bit, AND put some paper slivers between the slit where you're drilling into so that you can see the paper debree come up, and know to STOP...

sounds like it would be easier to just take the led lights out. Would I have to desolder them or could I just cut/break them off?

Drilling AL isn't that hard. I drill carbon steel most days by hand at work and some days stainless.

What are you talking about? QFR has LEDs under the caps, just leave them as is, you're not required to turn it into Filco-style LEDs just because there's a hole in the case for it.

yes you do... otherwise you just have 2 empty sockets.
Say you got a bunch of gems and an a socket-ed dagger, you wouldn't put them in??

Filling those predrilled holes in the case is for aesthetics, it's not absolutely required. Also, QFR has 3 LEDs, while this vortex only has 2 holes for the Filco-style LEDs. It would bother me more to have the capslock and scroll lock LED outside of the cap, while the F9 LED is still under the cap.

Yeah, moving the LEDs is a total waste of time unless you're neurotic about the empty holes left in the case.
I believe there are some issues with the USB daughter board, though, aren't there? I thought you had to remove the board and replace the cable with a soldered-on cable or a cable for a filco.

Put the daughter board near the "computer end" rather than the keyboard end.
not filling those holes is MORE of an empty feeling.
It is however difficult // dangerous a drill press.
But I did it, so it certainly is possible with steady hands. :thumb:
