No offense intended, but Brazil is notorious as the kind of beautiful, lovely, natural-resource endowed country where nothing remotely related to government works.

I'm just happy for you that you got a working keyboard.

Why? This is why.

whoa!  I hate USPS but they've never done me quite that bad. Well technically they have done worse but still, that sucks man.

Hopefully you can salvage something.

Hope it works.

I would recommend putting the keyboard in a box of rice. Make sure you do not press any keys, you don't want the rice going into the switches.

Apparently, they collect a bunch of parcels, assemble a raft from them and sail across the Pacific - hence the delay :)

At this point I'd consider opening the case to make internals dry faster and be sure that everything really is dry before deciding to plug it. Unless it was insured or something and you'll need to prove that it wasn't damaged by you.

So your name is "wetto" and your package came wet.

maybe change name to something more dry.

Why are you posting like it's your keyboard? I've seen you posting on Adrenaline (I'm from Brazil too) and it's someone's else keyboard.

I remember an old comic strip that fits this where it said, "do not fold, spindle, or mutilate."  They replied, "it didn't say anything about maul."

I thought that was just condensation, until I saw the box

Like MOZ said, if you can, put it in a bag of rice - that will help to absorb the moisture.

Irrespective of whether it is his or not, it does highlight a very bad experience someone has had in Brazil with the post.

Sure if it is not his, he can't remedy the situation himself, but please do forward the suggestions to the original owner of the keyboard.

It's still a little off putting to be misled by a member of the community. His first post makes no claims, only stating that he hates the postal system for this issue. But in later responses, he definitely implies that he's in possession of the keyboard.

I don't really care if it's his or not, but it's humbling to realize that maybe not everybody on GH is upholding the values I've seen so far. Integrity, namely. Without integrity, we'd never be able to trust eachother enough for a single GB to make it to production.

While this keyboard may not be mine:

- I'm the one who recommended the keyboard to him
- I'm the one who recommended the store to him
- I'm the one who solved his questions when he asked why the hell it was taking more than 50 days to arrive
- I'm the one who he came to ask questions of how to solve this problem regarding this keyboard, including leaving 3-4 days before turning it on again
- I'm the one trying to check if that keyboard really is ok

While it may not be mine, I do regard all the keyboards that are bought through the Brazilian Portuguese Mechanical Keyboard guide with some responsibility since all of those are mostly recommended by me, I'm the one who also has to solve problems such as keycap wearing (such as what's already happening with the Tt Meka G1 and had already happened with the CM Quick Fire TK) and when people dislike their keyboards (such as has happened last week with the CM Quick Fire TK from a user, which replaced it for a CM Quick Fire Rapid with my help).

So, with that regard, I really did answered as if I was the owner, which I'm really not, but please, do not judge my character like I'm some sort of villain, while I'm not, ok?

Yah, I think you're being perfectly reasonable here.

That said, as the resident of another tropical nation, I'm aware that in less developed countries  :p :p such as Brazil there is a lot of rain and there may not be a proper roof to protect packages from the rain because the corrupt government has siphoned the money off public works contracts.

I've heard that Brazilians all fly because they won't use the roads which either don't exist, or are ultra jammed.

Besides what happend to the keyboard, they might have charged 100% import taxes on it, if the customs guy felt like it.
But I've never had such a big problem with any kinda of imports here in Brazil, delays at most, though things like that do happen occasionaly. But the taxes are keeping me from really getting into MKs =/

Yeah, unfortunately Linkecomputer does a pretty lame job at packaging, there was the same package on my Das Keyboard, but it arrived safely.

But hell, the way the keyboard has arrived and the fact that its cables have mold, makes me think it may have been submersed in water...

Rice and Ionized salts work wonder on absorbing the water from around best luck of recovery.. =.= really depends on how wet the pcb became, I think you might be able to alcohol rinse it to make sure that all the water is accounted for.

Times like these, makes me want to use neverwet on my stuff, but probably would ruin it

I had a recent mishap with a courier service in the UK, apparently they deliverd the parcel while I was on holiday, I told them I didn't have it and asked if they could re-send it. I was told they had photographic proof the parcel was left safe and secure. I told them to show me.

I received a nice picture of a parcel left on a doorstep which wasn't mine, good job shooting yourself in the foot Citylink!

In Brazil you get a damaged Keyboard, in Italy you get nothing, in the UK someone else gets your parcel!

You sent me a package? :3

It was from a major chain who sent it and I did actual receive a refund. Which is abit unfair on them as they didn't mess up the courier did.

Australia Post is ok most of the time, but when they get it wrong, there is not much you can do about it.

Mostly it takes 2 to 3 weeks to get a package from US to Australia.  One from Singapore took about 6 weeks.  From the UK is about 2 weeks.

I must admit that only one package has actually gone missing.  And only one has been opened by customs (which happened to contain my first Clack - a single keycap, HO Toast as it happens, wonder if their scanner detected the etching on the keycap LOL).

Oh Australian customs are not fun; a family friend shipped a container full of antique furniture (for selling) which happened to have 2 large plant-pots in (huge ornate things) there was a small dusting on soil at the bottom and the 60ft container was completely incinerated [well the contents]. No return to sender. no insurance payout... Probably getting revenge for all those prisoners we sent over :))

What gets me is an ExpressPost bag from Adelaide to Melbourne takes two days.

This has happened multiple times.  We complained, becuase you are supposed to get a free bag if it takes > 1 day, but they just said it was delivered to some "distribution centre" and therefore out of their control.
