No love for opera?
Why did you make another thread for browsers?
You already made one: http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=34456.0

Chrome.
I use Waterfox, a tweaked 64bit Firefox. I love Firefox, you can do almost anything with it to make it how you want.
Chrome, I feel like I'm using an Iphone, it's so dumbed down. It works well, but if it can't do what you need, you have no way to fix it. The developers have no intention of changing this aspect of it, which means for some work I do, it won't function. Opera, works, but last time I used it I found the interface clunky and it lacks add-ons. I.E. is a trojan/virus magnet, always has been.Hehe you made the same mistake earlier. Chrome opens faster than Firefox / Waterfox and feels faster. That's the main reason I stick with Chrome and have for many years, though I've tried Waterfox on 2 different fast machines. There's No-script for Chrome as well as all the usual plug-ins, like AdBlock and FlashBlock. That only goes for my desktops. I have to use Firefox on Linux at work (no administrative privileges to change it) and prefer Safari / Mercury on iPad.
Another thing I love about Chrome is the low amount of wasted space at the top of the screen. It has no title bar and is very minimalistic. Waterfox is bulkier.
I use vimperator and side tree tabs. I have nothing at the top of my screen. No tabs, no address bar, nothing. Just a statusbar on the bottom and tabs on the side.I use Waterfox, a tweaked 64bit Firefox. I love Firefox, you can do almost anything with it to make it how you want.

GUESS WHAT? INTERNET EXPLORER 6 OPENS UP EVEN FASTER THAN GOOGLE CHROME! THAT'S WHY YOU SHOULD USE WINDOWS NT4 OR 98. BOTH OS'S AND THE INTERNET BROWSERS WILL RUN WELL ON COMPUTERS WITH AS LITTLE AS A 486 AND 12MB OF RAM. THEY FIRE UP ALMOST INSTANTLY ON A PENTIUM 4!I feel dirty even thinking about using a system that old. Ick!

If you are just browsing, Chrome works great, beyond that and I want to start pounding my head into the desk. Just like an Iphone.GUESS WHAT? I like how the Tabs work and look in chrome, it might be similar in both IE and Firefox now, but when I started it was nice, easy and fast to use imo.. :)
I like vimium

MY CAR HAS CHEAP STEEL WHEELS. I ALSO USE INTERNET EXPLORER 6.
Chrome sucks. You guys should use Internet Explorer.
INTERNET EXPLORER 6 WILL NEVER DIE.
INTERNET EXPLORER 6 WILL NEVER DIE.
So true. Alas I am still using Firefox for my everyday internet needs. Mainly for buying/banking but I should give IE 6.0 a re-do on my Win7 setup. Just curious to see if it's still up to the task.
Also liking Waterfox 24 oddly because it's a true 64bit browser and doesn't get much mention out there in the public sphere.
Will IE 6 even install on Win 7?
I DON'T THINK MSIE6 OR 7 WILL RUN ON WINDOWS 7, BUT MSIE6 WILL WORK ON WINDOWS NT4, 98, 2000, AND XP.
Firefox, nothing can take me away from vimperator.
Vimium is just plain bad after having used vimperator. It's like if you were using a second graders version of vim, when the real one is right there.Meh vimium is usable. Covers most of what I used vimperator for anyway. I'd probably be using FF more if it had equivalent addons for the chrome extensions that I couldn't live without, but it doesn't. And a lot of the addons I used to use don't even work anymore :( Newest FF is hideous by default too in my opinion. On the other hand, chrome absolutely sucks with themes..
The situation around web browsers is just sad. Anything Chromium-based is broken by design
Chrome. I think I've used most of the common ones (even the bad ones!) in my history though. I like being able to share bookmarks between my computer, phone, and tablet though. There's always xmarks?
I use chrome, But I have firefox and IE...... I try not to use IE EVER! EVER! The only time I use it is usually working on new computers to download chrome. I like Chrome because its fast and I like the layout, but I am waiting for Maxthon Cloud Browser to have an updated chrome skin. Then I will switch to Maxthon.
Just me or Chrome has been crashing a lot lately? :(
Only have Adblock plus and Google Docs enabled in extensions :(

Chrome has been incredibly unstable for me lately. I made the switch to Firefox this morning, I still prefer the layout of Chrome but I can sacrifice a bit of convenience for stability.

I tried to use Chrome over last weekend but it was flakey to say the least. Firefox is still being used simply because it works on my desktop, even though I'm stuck with Win 8 Pro.

I would use Chrome if I could but it's rendering engine does not like to play nice with alternative shells.
Whenever explorer.exe is not running, everything breaks :(.
As such, I use FF... One thing I do like that FF has over Chrome though is Ctrl+Shift+E.

You should give Internet Explorer a try. It's even better than Firefox!
Iceweasel!
Well, okay, I guess it's just Firefox with a different name, but still... Different name.
That's for when I'm in Linux. Windows I use Firefox (almost switched to Chrome, but I'm too used to the tab management in FF), Android I use Boat browser.

I applaud your fanaticism for IE 6.0. Never met anyone that is a card carrying supporter of IE no matter what version it is. My main concern is always going to be support and safety when using that older browser when banking and paying bills with current businesses.
Can you be 100% certain that IE 6.0 will function securely as all the up to date browsers that are currently available? That is very important for me at least.
Who cares about being up to date? Internet Explorer 6 is a timeless classic that will never go out of style. Internet Explorer 6 is the ultimate answer to being an innovative leader in the computing industry!

Okay you seem so adamant about IE 6.0 above everything else. I'll be installing it on an old XP SP3 box this coming weekend. Then I'll reminisce using a classic once again :thumb: .
Firefox! :thumb:
Firefox. adblock plus doesnt work for **** on chrome and IE.
Adblock works fine on Chrome for me. There are just too many plugins on Firefox that I go overboard and download everything, so it just turns super slow. Chrome feels so much faster.Firefox. adblock plus doesnt work for **** on chrome and IE.
yup... that's really the only reason I use firefox... if there was another adblocker that's as effective as the firefox plugin.. I'd totally switch back to internet explorer.... IE is so much faster than Firefox.. (at least it FEELS faster) with the pre fetching i think...

What program do you use to access Geekhack.org? I used to use MSIE5, but now I use IE6.(http://i.imgur.com/Y0q2Wr0.png)
My other half somehow ended up with the Torch Web Browser (http://www.torchbrowser.com/) installed on her computer.
Anyone heard of it before?
Anyone used it??
IE on my pc
Chrome on my android
Chrome foreva!!
Being able to store all your bookmarks and whatnot in the cloud is just too awesome. Addons are handy and it's super fast.

Yes, why is that women seem to find it so attractive to use? My mrs seems transfixed with using it as well yet it's only a slightly skinned Chrome-based browser.
This maybe the future of browsers .....who knows, although I like the Torrent feature that's inbuilt within the app, nice.

She claimed she didn't install it, and was quite happy for me to uninstall it (now she is back to Chrome or Firefox - some sites don't work in one or the other).

How do you like...not get bombarded by malware and old old exploits all over the internet?

Doesn't matter what version of browser you use you'll get exploits of one version or another. Just couple what ever browser you're using with BitDefender and you'll be fine :thumb: .
Firefox ftw

Why? You are on an Apple machine, so where is Safari? Stick with what Jobsie had supplied you with, before wasting time on other browsers which maybe far worse.
Safari is too much of a memory hog, plus I am still on Snow Leopard and that Safari is a few versions behind.
Besides, that would be like telling all Windows users to stick with what Gatesy or Ballsy gave them :))

Touché. Although I have never used any of Gatesie's IE, except when first downloading Firefox within a freshly installed OS :thumb: .
