Title: MS Wheel Mouse Optical Mod - Sidebuttons added
Post by: CeeSA on Mon, 26 August 2013, 06:56:53
I miss sidebuttons too much. So I added 2 cherry ml switches to the classic killer:

This is my 1st try with this mod.
It feels nice, even the buttons have no caps on. And the buttons are "outside" the housing.
For me it's comfortable to grip.

How did you wire it into the controller on the mouse?

Those are the best mice ... ever. I'm using one right now!

For the side buttons, I use a PCB from a RAT 5. It is outside the mouse. At the 4th pic you could three more wires go outside the housing, connected to the RAT 5 PCB.

Bad pic, but you get an idea.

Cool man! I hate mouses without the side buttons. They're so convenient. Very nice mod
