Title: QFR Keeping constant regsiter?
Post by: Shikarikato on Mon, 26 August 2013, 17:32:30
Sometimes when I'm typing it'll register a key for the next 5 seconds, like if I type a u and it happens i end up getting " uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu " until it stops

Is the key physically stuck down?

If you remove the keycap and press the switch, does the same thing happen (in case the keycap is catchong on something)?

Is it all keys, just one or two, or a whole area of the keyboard?

The key cap comes back up, but its random there's no specific keys that do it, at least not yet. I've only had a few keys do it so far though.

I've seen that once or twice, but it was application-related.  Can't remember which application it was, but an upgrade solved the issue for me.

Does this happen for you across all apps, or just one?

it's probably either a mis-crimped leafspring or a mismolded switch stem.

Either way.. desolder, swap it with a known "working switch, that you don't use like the Insert Key or something,

And then see if problem persists.

Yeah, I have this a few times. Always have been bent leaf inside the switch making contact. Agree best to desolder and replace for fix.
