A slightly smaller Sensei with two less button and an optical sensor (as opposed to laser). Haven't tried it yet, but I can imagine it's pretty solid.

Can't say I've used it, but it looks solid.  I've always preferred more simple mouse designs - ones without a billion buttons and weird angles.

**And in case anyone isn't familiar with the mouse - I wasn't, had to go look:

It's not a bad mouse. For those who are used to having back/forward buttons on the same side, you might have a bad time. I actually prefer the Kinzu v2 Pro, but I don't really like extra buttons on my mouse.

I have the sensei fnatic edition. regardless of some mouse elitist opinions of it are....
it fits my hand and mousing style.

public opinions really do not matter if you do not like the mouse when you get it.
the kana is a nice mouse but the size may be a issue for you. it is all based on what feels right to you.

can you record the macros using the left-right keys and/or can you initiate the macros off the left-right click buttons versus the side buttons from the steel series engine software?

yes the steelseries engine software does this.
I can set a Keypress Macro, launch application, Text Macro,Disable any button including left/right mouse buttons.
I have everything set default on mine except disabling the side buttons on the side that my pinky finger rests on.
that is pretty common practice with ambidextrous mice.

Are you saying left click and right click buttons or the side forward and back buttons?
I do not understand left-right button.

either way you can reprogram any button to do anything.
the side buttons can be remapped to left and right click if you wanted.

They can't actually do whatever you want, at the moment you can't assign media keys to them. Although SS are aware of the issue and, last I heard, are working to bring that functionality back.

not changing, but adding to

example 2-3 clicks or holding down for a specific function in addition to left-right click- if not will just use other buttons

work, office programs, etc

just seeing if the option is there
