Post by: yasuo on Thu, 29 August 2013, 05:09:11
Hello All

When you typing you prefer lock (like capslock, shiftlcok, etc) or combination press Shift + Alphabet(letter) for make capital letter
and for lock other like FN lock/blue shift examp:key64

Which faster, press Lock or combination?

I use Shift + letter all the time, unless I am typing a long sentence or, more usually, an SQL statement (which our coding standards requires to be all uppercase), in which case (rarely) I use Caps Lock.

I only know one person who uses Caps Lock to get a single uppercase character.  It is painful watching him type, especially when he forgets to turn Caps Lock off and the rest of the sentence is also uppercase.

I rarely (never?) use caps lock, never use an embedded keypad, rarely use an external keypad, and touch type without ever looking with blank keycaps. I do like having lots of X-Keys dedicated keyboards too though :)

Use sticky keys, that will let you press Shift / Ctrl / Alt, release it, and then press the 'affected' key. Most desktops let you enable it by pressing the Shift key five times quickly.

Shift for short stuff, Caps Lock for longer stuff (Although very rare)

Sean Wrona uses Caps Lock instead of Shift.

But then he's not quite your average typist, either.

But then he's not quite your average typist, either.

also, his body is quite well adapted for speed typing

His shoulders are very close together making it very comfortable for him to use the cramped qwerty layout..

While most other guys have to scrunch shoulders or elbows together.

Shift + letter, don't really write in caps (well apart from programming languages)

I use shift for to capitalize words even. Only if I were to type several words in all caps will I use caps lock, and that is very rare.

I agree with most before me that using it for single letters seems excessive and straining.
