A really good Reuben is hard to beat.

Pastrami is exquisite if good quality and piled high (no mustard, please, that ruins it!).

A true Greek gyro with fresh tziziki sauce and feta cheese.

When I am somewhere as proletarian as Subway I sometimes get a double-meat BMT with everything except mustard and mayo, and their meatball sub is sometimes (but not always) pretty decent.

A bacon, lettuce, and tomato can be fantastic, too, if the lettuce is not iceberg, the tomato is fresh and ripe, and there is enough bacon. Also, a grilled variation of the BLT with cheddar cheese added and spinach substituted for lettuce is very satisfying.

you guys will never be able to beat my grilled cheese.  I make it with cheddar, swiss, provolone, mozzarella, and a touch of parmesan.  All smoked by yours truly for 2 hours except for the parmesan.  That only gets 20 minutes.  For some reason it absorbs the smoke flavor like Oprah on a Little Debbie.

i usually go into the fridge and grab every single piece of meat i can find and throw it on some toasted bread.  Roast beef, turkey, ham, salami, chicken with moz, provalone, american cheese and ranch.  pretty tasty.

If i had to make a civilized sandwich...turkey, provolone, lettuce, tomato and a little bit of mayo on TOASTED bread.  I cant eat bread that's not toasted.  idk I'm weird.

um... i like no-bread, but i've tried pepper in that arrangement before, and what happens is, fresh pepper is actually quite hard. so when you bite into it, the roof of your mouth closest to your top incisors hurt.

kind of like the problem if you eat celery sticks or carrot sticks.

Title: Re: SANDWICHES

but that fat is where they get the flavor from.  When ever anyone makes any sort of decent deer sausage, the locker has to add fat to the mix so it has some flavor and juicy.  Deer is very very lean.  Same thing with very young cows that are grass fed.  I just bought into a 1/4 side of beef that I thought was going to be "grain finished".  That is where the cow is fed nothing but corn and other grains to help build a good layer of fat and more marbling in the meat.  Well the cow was only about 6 months old at the time of slaughter and was only fed about 2 bags of corn over a weekend.  Needless to say the steaks would have been **** so the entire thing got ground up into burger and it only came up to 95% lean.  Now as you guys know this isn't enough fat to make burger on the grill with.  So looks like we are eating a bunch of ground beef for a while.

try not to cut it all out..

I've been reading some stuff on centenarians,  and it seems like they're predominantly not on high protein or high fat...

so if we can deduce that  humans can only consume  fat  protein and sugars,  then  if not  fat and protein,   then sugars....

When I used to eat 3,000+ cals a day my stand by was a local Taco stand that sold a "Cubana Torta"

Torta Bread w/
... Breaded steak
... Pork shoulder
... some sort of little Mexican hotdog sausages
... bacon
... mayonaise
... Processed yellow cheese [I emphasize processed because it made Kraft singles look like they came from France]
... Jalepenos
... Tomatoes
... Avocado

You knew you were taking 6 months off your life every time you ate this sandwich.

Seriously it made their greasy Burritos taste healthy :D

Chicken, cheese & chilli sauce is my favorite sandwich. Can also replace the chicken with steak or pepperoni.

Cheese and chilli sauce with pepperoni....that's not a combo I would have thought to try.

Because, dear friend, fishfingers are more easily tamed held within a bread prison, and tartar sauce shackles.
Also it's tidier by my computer

I tried Al's in the burbs and it was mediocre.  Portillo's FTW!  \o/

Swap out the Miracle Whip for normal whipped cream and then that'd be amazing.

I'm kidding (kind of). It's someone with dyslipidemia who ate a MASSIVE fatty meal.

It's more like on the bottom right if you're an healthy adult. The left is once the chylomicrons have cleared out after 2-3 hours.

A normal balanced diet?

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to alarm you or anything. That's just how chylomicrons transport fats in the body. The left top is regular plasma. Once you eat fats it gets "milky" for a while with all the triglycerides and saturated fats. You can read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chylomicron

I saw a massive bacon filled sandwich and wanted to show what it looks like once you're done eating it. Just stay away from the Krispy Kreme bacon cheeseburger.

If you have a small kid who eats a lot of fatty foods ask them to make a fist. Their fist about the size of their heart. It's the organ that pumps this crud.
