Title: An idea for a future product (and it's not a keyboard!)
Post by: dante on Sat, 31 August 2013, 10:51:00
The market has several "silent" computer mice; of which I have sampled all of them.  The best so far is the Nexus 8500.  Even though it's "the best" it's really the best of the worst.  It's great but has serious longevity issues.  Also the wheel is not as good as it could be.

Could you check out the feasibility of making a silent mouse?  Maybe using Cherry MX switches for the buttons? (hackability/modability fun!)

Lots of office workers and spouses would appreciate it!

I would definitely want a decent mouse with silent switches in my collection. If possible, something with a more linear click, would be nice for something like Diablo and other clickspam games as it would feel like you weren't heavily abusing the mouse.
