Hey guys, I just got some white key caps and they get dirty pretty fast.
I was wondering, what's the best way to keep them clean? For the time being, I wipe them down with alcohol wipes at a weekly basis but is there a more permanent solution?

I don't really think there is anything else you can do except for cleaning them at a regular basis.

I find the best way to keep light coloured keycaps clean is to keep them in a sealed box :p
or to just wipe every few days with a warm damp cloth!

Keep your hands clean; that should do the trick. :-)

I was thinking of maybe spraying down a spare set of keys with that new Rustoleum Never wet spray.
My hands are clean for the most part but there are those few occasional days were I forget to wash my hands.

Yeah, you just need to find the fastest way to clean them; if you're doing it weekly, methinks a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol would take too long.
I'm a super germaphobe, so I haven't had to clean my keys yet, but I know how even the natural oils from clean hands can eventually coalesce into some sort of brownish goo on the keys/mouse. If you want to keep it really clean, the trick is simply to find a faster way, like making a pass across the keys with a damp washcloth. No ideas come to mind after that :-).

You can use a plastic keyboard roof. I also wipe my PBT caps with a paper towel dampened with ammonia-free surface / glass cleaner periodically to remove dust and any oils.

There's not much I can think of that's more permanent, that wouldn't end up altering the caps slightly. Other than wiping them down periodically, perhaps using a baby wipe, something non-harsh and unscented, before each use of your keyboard might help mitigate any potential dirt collection.
