This is my hello post and one of my most important posts at the same time. Hi, my name is pagosElite. Recently my Quickfire Pro Brown Switches broke (got a full refund) and I'm now in the market for a new keyboard mainly for SC2 and typing out essays for school. I'm currently looking at the CMStorm Quickfire Stealth Brown Switches, CMStorm Quickfire Rapid Brown Switches, CMStorm Quickfire TK Brown or Blue Switches, and the Razer Blackwidow Tournament Edition Blue Switches. Honestly I would like to know if there is any difference between the Stealth and Rapid other than the side-printed key caps. The TK... honestly the hype is over the full back-lighting and combined numpad but I don't understand why there is so much hype over back-lighting. If I order the Blue Switches today I can get a 20 rebate which is epic but whats better for SC2, blues or browns? For the Razer Blackwidow Tournament edition I have seen MANY, MANY SC2 pros using it but I have heard a lot of bad stuff about it like its bad customer support and its short life span. I also have the option to get the Das Professional S Blue Switches and the Ducky DK9087G2 PRO TKL Blue or Brown switches too. For the Ducky, if I don't get the blue switches on it I wont be able to afford it so please take that into consideration. So if you think the blues are better than the brown on the Ducky then recommend that but if you think the browns are better recommend a different keyboard with browns. Other recommendations are okay but they cant cross the $100 threshold, must be on Amazon, and remember, I also need to type essays for school on it too. So... fire away geekhack community! I have a very important tournament on Monday and then on Friday so the quicker the replies the more I would <3 you :D!
Questions I would like answered in order of important:
1) What is the best switch for RTS games and typing?
2) Is there a difference between the Quickfire Rapid and Quickfire Stealth other than the side-printed keycaps?
3) Which keyboard to get :D?
-
1) Not sure. I don't play RTS, but brown is a good choice for typing.
2) No.
3) QFR with browns (cheaper than stealth).
-
i would vote for browns for playing sc2 personally.
i DEFINTELY noticed the double-tap problem on my quickfire TK. I DID get over it over time, but my filco minila brown had no learning curve whatsoever and performed 'admirably'

Thanks for the reply guys, I might go with the QFR browns but I'll keep it up for debate for another day or two to see what others have to say.

1. I would personally suggest Reds for gaming and either blues or browns for typing, I'm currently typing/gaming on Blacks and I hate it, when I have some spare money, I'm going to switch back to either blues or reds.
2. I don't believe there is, nope.
3. Personally I like the 75% keyboards, such as the Noppoo Choc mini, the Keycool 84, etc etc. But I think this is all down to personal preference.
