Post by: C5Allroad on Sun, 01 September 2013, 21:09:58
Hey guys I looked at code keyboard and saw that it had Cherry MX clears and was wondering whether it had NKRO on usb or do you have to use PS2?

Oh ok thank you. I'm still looking for a keyboard then, my motherboard doesn't have PS2 ports.

Why do you need NKRO?

honestly dont bother looking for a keyboard with NKRO over USB, first off you'll never find one (unless they use some weird method to achieve that in which case it might be safer to NOT get it because it might have negative effects) But also the most you would ever need is probably around 6-8KRO unless you smash your entire forearm against a keyboard for a living.

I still have not run into any situation where 6KRO was insufficient. Then again, about the only situation I can think of that might require it is stenography.

Then you guys haven't seen me playing planetside 2 trying to do reverse maneuver :p  I know Corsair, Maxkeyboard, and Ducky can do NKRO, But I'm just looking for different choices.

buying a keyboard with dubious input stats is not going to change your gameplay

What keyboard are you using right now?
Using a K90 my cluster of keys Print screen page up/down don't work. So that's why I'm looking for a new keyboard.
To sth I know that buying a keyboard with amazing stats won't help my gameplay but when buying something why not "future proof"? My K90 lasted me 1 yr and a half now it's either Ducky or nighthawk X8

Lol I didn't want to google it... But I think I'm set on Ducky. Is there a set of external media keys like there is for the numpad?

4 key is about the most I've ever really needed. I have done 5 once before, but that was more because I wanted to do something different (basically, had a global hotkey setup to lock my desktop if I hit control-shift-winkey-alt-z or basically mashing the lower corner of the keyboard).

A handful of games will hit 4 or 5. if I am doing a spiraled climb while targeting and firing at missles in BSGO, then I hit limits sometimes.

Win+L doesn't work for you?

I don't use Windows. Plus it is satisfying just pounding at the keyboard with my fist and having it do something I wanted it to.

Keep in mind 6KRO is 6keys + all 9 modifiers.
