Title: Apple Keyboard (M0116) Space Bar Question
Post by: terrpn on Thu, 05 September 2013, 11:47:00
ok...........so i picked up the above keyboard and it was really dirty. took it all apart, got keys soaking, oxy-cleaning the front and back lid

of course the space bar was more yellow than the other keys, so i gently removed and seeing there is like a barrel along the left side- kind of like the model m barrel where there is a shaft on the left side of the space bar that inserts into the barrel along with the alps switch when you reinsert the space bar

my question is was there a "spring" in that barrel?

i can't tell and thought i remember maybe hearing something about it on here? don't remember

There's no spring in the "barrel" under the bigass enter key — pressing the top half of the keycap (above the barrel) causes the key to bind. I never had the spacebar off on mine.
