Hello Geekhack community!
My alias is soupysauce and I've been lurking the forums for quite some time. The topic title is just something to keep in mind. I'm a budget PC gamer. No current pictures of my setup but I've spent no more than $150 total for it and I'm constantly looking to find cheap deals. I've been typing on a Dell L100/Sk-8115/RT7D50 and I feel like it's time to step it up into a mechanical keyboard. Currently a student studying Computer Engineering, I type a lot and I feel like if anything needs an upgrade in my computer, it's this keyboard. I've been looking at Dell AT101w's on eBay as well as some IBM Model M keyboards but I'm not too sure what other old mechanical keyboards are out there floating around the $20 price tag, my kind of price tag. I've only tried a Cherry MX Red switch other than this keyboard and I have to say, it was a damn nice feel. My priority on the keyboard is typing but I'm sure any sort of mech keyboard will be a step up from my current one, right? Haha. All input is welcome. Thanks.
Any suggestions?
Can't wait to become part of this community. Cheers!

Nobody welcomed this guy in over 6 days?
wtf gh?
I apologize for the uncouth apes who are members here. Welcome to GH.
If you are on a budget, just call yourself economical or judicious, not cheap. Cheap is kind of a bad word around here. Since everybody already spends too much money on keyboards.
Anyway, since you are on a budget, here is my choice: CM Storm Quickfire with MX Reds: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823129006&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-_-pla-_-Keyboards-_-N82E16823129006&gclid=CL6L-ufYxLkCFY9QOgodc2AAEQ
Newegg.com has some kind of supersaver sale that ends today! $69.99!

Haha no worries. I'm a very chill dude and don't take things personally, often :thumb:
And I appreciate the link! That was the keyboard I bought the day after I posted this and it sucks that I missed the sale, I'm all for saving money! I'll definitely use the word economical instead haha. I appreciate the welcoming. I can already tell I'm going to be spending more than I'd like on keycaps and collecting keyboards and yadda yadda. I already started bidding on a couple old keyboards like a model M and the AT101. Oh boy.
