Well, I am thinking of getting a Model M. I have used mx blues and reds before, But I want to own my own. I peronally own a rubber dome unfortunetly. I was thinking of getting a blue switch keyboard but the model m really has my eye. What do you think?

Buckling spring switches aren't really comparable to cherry switches. If you want a model m, but don't want to try and find a good one, Unicomp makes a very good replica.

Yeah, I know there not all that comparable. And thanks for the suggestion!

Yes. You should. IMO the buckling springs of a Model M (typing on one now) provide one of the best typing experiences. If you game a ton you might want to look into some other cherry mx options, but the model m does fine here too.

Man, for a second there I thought you were called 'Tempz'

Welcome to Geekhack!
Nothing wrong with a Model M - I have two :)
Awesome choice for a first mechanical, although your choice in custom keycaps will be somewhat limited.

Welcome to GH! I'm new here myself.
Anyway, my first mechanical keyboard (which I only got a couple of days ago) is a CM STORM Quickfire TK with Cherry MX Brown switches, it also comes in Blue and Red. I highly recommend it!
I am actually trying to get a hold of a Model M myself right now, I've heard they're great.

Are you going to be mainly working on it?
Gaming?
Both?
