Title: Key spacing on blackwidow
Post by: C5Allroad on Sun, 08 September 2013, 12:27:32
Is the spacing on the blackwidow a standard key spacing? Is is wider?

Key spacing is 3/4" as on any other keyboard. You can use standard Cherry MX keycaps for most keys.

It's standard spacing as far as I know.  BUT I don't know why every time I type on it my hand feels crammed.  Maybe it has a slightly narrower key top surface I'm not too sure.

But according to science it's suppose to be the same.

The key shape is unusual, the spacing is not.
This was part of their problem, the keys would rub each other, catch a corner and stick.

On the one I parted out, the molds for the keys, were off a bit. If I remember right, the left ALT would rub the spacebar and get stuck, as would the left shift against the A key. A little scraping with a razor blade along the bottom edges sorted them out.

Oh ok because I typed on my friends board and it's really weird for me to type on.

I think their "hand picked" means they are picking matched, odd spring rates or something.
