Title: Need help with sleeving a coiled cable
Post by: BlueBär on Sun, 08 September 2013, 15:35:41
I bought this 3m USB coiled cable because I love coiled cables, and I thought why not sleeve it? I know that it was going to be a bit of a pita but not this bad...

So doing the first third was actually quite ok, then the tape I put around the tip came off, I continued on and I have about half of it done but I'm absolutely stuck now. The last ~10 coils I tried using wax to kind of lubricate it, but that didn't do much at all. I also tried warm water (because I thought the paracord might expand because of the warmth) but that made it worse. I tried pulling on the sleeve itself as well, but that didn't do anything. This is my current progress:

Can anybody with a bit more sleeving experience give me tips?

Ask paranoid, he knows how to do it. :)

Whoa that was a quick reply :)

I asked pexon since he does coiled cables, but he didn't answer, and paranoid does just normal cables.

Good luck with that! Coiled cables are pretty hard to sleeve but if you stretch the cable out some it might help.
