Title: Quick Fire TK - can the polling rate be adjusted?
Post by: ShaPeLesS on Thu, 12 September 2013, 14:51:11
Hello everyone,

I'm thinking of buying a Quick Fire TK, however I have one concern. The CM website states that the keyboard works in 1000Hz/1ms polling rate. Now, having such an option is great, but I think 1000Hz is over-kill and just hogs CPU cycles. Can the polling rate be adjusted? On the Quick Fire Pro I noticed there are keys to choose between 8ms/4ms/2ms/1ms response time, but I don't see such keys on the QFTK.

i guess my question is what CPU are you running where a 1000Hz rate will slow it down?

I'm using an Intel i5-2500K. I noticed that if I run my mouse in 1000Hz polling-rate mode that TF2 stutters from time to time. I haven't tested it with a keyboard but I suppose the same will happen.

Still, I don't think what processor I use is relevant. I would be grateful if someone can give me an actual answer.

I find it hard to believe that the keyboard or mouse polling rate matters enough to make a game stutter.

But the best way to get your answer is to send Carter the coolermaster rep here on the forum a PM.

Or see if a mod can move this thread to the cooler master subforum so it gets noticed.

I'm not joking. When I put my Razer Mamba (old edition) on 1000Hz, TF2 stutters from time to time. I tested it on 125/250/500/1000 and only on 1000Hz did I see some lag.
