Title: New K95 a candidate for full key swap?
Post by: flomofo on Fri, 13 September 2013, 20:00:59
Since the new k95 is mechanical everywhere except for the dumb add-on media keys is it possible to do a full swap out to white key caps?

Also wondering if the lighting would still look good if PBT caps are sued.

And also is it possible with the newer k70 or 60 series etc?

For current model Corsairs, all are replaceable with aftermarket caps except the spacebar since they use a nonstandard size. The 1.5 Ctrl keys may be challenging depending on what sets you are after replacing the stock set with.
Regarding the backlighting, thin PBT/ABS will give a paper lantern look, the thicker Cherry profile caps not so much.

Thanks for the reply.

I was thinking about using thicker white colored caps or PBT thick white caps with side lettering and just using the white lighting underneath the keys as it still has a cool effect due to the design of the keyboard.

IMO, I don't like the way light shines on pbt caps
