Hey geekhack,
Southpaw here, and I was just perusing the forums, as well as Amazon and a few other sites, and I noticed a "minor" plethora of left-handed mice are available... That got me to thinking: since I am left-handed I should be using a mouse that is designed for us weirdo southpaws...? ;)
Any southpaws here with feedback on using a left-handed mouse?
Thanks!

Worth a shot, are you using your right hand for mousing or are you using an ambidextrous mouse with your left hand currently?
There are some good left-handed mice out there, like the deathadder.

I'm using a right hand mouse with my...Right hand. I just think the switch could be interesting, and perhaps beneficial.

go with an ambidextrous mouse like the zowie fk!

Ambidextrous eh? Sounds awesome! I'll have to check it out.

Yeah, ambidextrous is a safe bet since if you find that you still prefer right hand mousing you can still use the mouse. If you find that you do prefer left handed mousing you can go look for a left-handed mouse in case you want to try that as well.

Thanks for the input [pun intended] man.

Left-hand mouse all the way.
I am a totally right-handed person, and used a right-hand mouse exclusively (since the 1980s) until a couple of years ago.
At some point, I read a recommendation for left-hand mousing and it just "clicked" so I tried it. No regrets.
I am an old man, so it was painful for a week and awkward for a month, but after that, smooth sailing.
Enter the Wow Joy Pen mouse about a year ago. For whatever reasons, I tried it and found the most beautiful mouse of all time. Other vertical mice, like the horrible Evoluent, are just plain wrong (I have not yet given the Anker a spin). So why is there only right hand Joy?
Today, I employ an ambidextrous mouse (Microsoft Optical 1) on the left and the Wow Joy Pen on the right. If you have the desk space, dual mousing is very handy and convenient. That is the way to go.
So let's just wait until Joy makes the left-hand version.

Awesome, thank you good sir!

I have a thread about left-handed mousing somewhere around here... I guess I should update it too.

A righty mentioned a while back that he moused with his left hand for two reasons. First, with a standard keyboard, the mouse is closer because of the ten key. Second, it freed up his dominant side to write with. How that affects your "lefty" decision, I don't know.
Just thought I'd add those factors into your mousing equation.

Thank you, sir. This does factor into everything, giving me more information to ponder upon for sure.
