Nighthawks are pretty solid keyboards, but I'd say Ducky has the best overall construction.

I would go with the ducky over the nighthawk as well.

Does the ducky have play/pause?
Or is there some sort of external media key that I can buy?

I would put my ducks into one basket.  It's called a shopping cart.

Is this even a thread?

Not really I'm just asking questions before I buy a keyboard.... Sorry if this isn't the right section.

I've actually been wondering about the same thing before.  There are some things I like better about the Nighthawk X8 over Ducky Shine 3 even though most people seems to prefer Ducky.

For example I like the stabilizer on Max Keyboard better, it's a similar to Costar type of stabilizer where as Ducky is Cherry stabilizer.

Also I like how all the keys are all lit all the time on Max Keyboard, on Ducky the number lock, scroll lock, and caps lock are only lit if it's activated, otherwise you get no backlight on those keys normally.

And I haven't heard any negative review regarding Max Keyboard so far.  So I'm actually very tempted to buy Max Keyboard over Ducky.

But I'll probably wait a bit and see, since I'm not in any rush for a backlit keyboard yet.  :P

I like the media keys on nighthawk also I like being able to change songs in the middle of a game. :) I might just a Logitech headset and have to buttons play/pause.

No, no, no and bloody hell no. Get a decent pair of headphones, for god's sake (and that means, Sennheiser, Audio Technica, Grado, V-Moda, AKG...). Sennheiser PC 360 if you want a headset, Audio Technica AD700 or AKG K240 Studio and a Antlion ModMic if you want to save up some money and still get high-end equipment.

Anyways, you can always install 3RVX and/or Autohotkey or get a good mouse with enough keys to do that during gameplay, without sacrificing too much quality over some gimmicks like that.

I don't have a sound card or expansion slots....
That's why I bought a Corsair 1500 and logitech G930 like 2 years ago. Lol. Do you know of any usb media keys?

Jesus man... There's the Asus Xonar U3 out there in the market and the headphones I recommended work perfectly with it.

Anyways, there's no need for some sort of remote controller for Media Keys when you can make media keys on your keyboard using softwares such as Autohotkey.

Meanwhile, you can use 3RVX to control your computer's volume by holding the Windows Key (no, with 3RVX installed unless you don't press anything before releasing the Windows key, it won't take you out of the game) and scrolling your mouse wheel up or down. And it even has some damn nice OSD:

And that OSD also works with keyboard, mouse and headset volume controls.

Would autohotkey trigger the anti hack system in most games like Planetside 2?
That's my main concern...
