Title: What Is This Connector Called?
Post by: mashby on Mon, 16 September 2013, 16:56:26
My google-fu is clearly lacking and I've been unable to find a specific connector that I am looking for. So I figured I'd do what I do when it comes to keyboard conundrums and see if the GH Collective could shed some light.

UPDATE
No sooner do I post this and then I find something close - "7-pin S-Video" That's the closest thing I've been able to find thus far. If anyone has anything more definitive, please let me know.  :thumb:

It is similar to a PS/2 connector in style and shape, but this is the end of a video cable dongle and not a keyboard. We're looking to find the female version of this connector for a non-keyboard related project, but can't seem to find it.

By definition, I'd call it a 7-pin mini-DIN, but it has a different layout that what you typically see with 7-pin connectors.

Any suggestions?

Super fast response SpAmRaY. Thank you!

Yeah, it appears to be a 7-pin S-Video connector and I think we found a source for the female connector at this link (http://www.sourcingmap.com/pcs-metal-shell-svideo-pin-female-pcb-mount-mini-din-sockets-p-360659.html).

Its a 7 Pin s-video connector. 7 pin sockets can be compatible with 4 pin s-video cable.

I use to have an Ati Radeon video card that had a 7 pin s video that i used to connect to the old crt tv.
