Can you see the revision number? It would be on the end like G80-3700HQAUS /0X. This will tell more about what modes it can do than the date code which tells us 2002. 01-07 should do mode4 for sure, higher revision I am unsure about.

I am tentatively down for 1. For sure if it is mode 4. I seem to remember a video from nntnam's thread showing mode 4... But all I could find in my quick skim was this pic:
