Title: Question about TKL and smaller boards.
Post by: Exothermic on Sat, 28 September 2013, 21:19:50
I have the Razer Naga mouse that I use for WoW, and I have all the side buttons bound to my numpad. If I were to use a keyboard without a numpad, would the computer still register the buttons on my mouse?

Hm. Consider unplugging your keyboard entirely and checking if your mouse works

I have a QFR TKL and a naga epic, yes, the buttons on your naga will still work fine as a number pad

I wasn't saying I had a problem, I was asking if something would theoretically work.

This is wonderful news! Time to convince people in the household not to judge me if I get another keyboard.

I was trying to do the "teach a man to fish..." thing.

If you unplugged your keyboard I was 100% certain you would've noticed that your mouse still works totally fine. After seeing that, you might have reached the conclusion that your mouse and keyboard aren't tied together at all. Because they're not.

I had a problem using the Naga with the Noppoo Choc Mini, so it is good news to hear TKL works.

It was a problem because the Num Lock toggles some of the alphas.

Idk about you, but I'll probably just plug in some other keyboard to make sure the numlock is on. I can't imagine ever having a situation where I would want it off.

In this case, you want the num lock turned off, or some of the alpha keys act as number keys. The same applies to the Model M SSK for example

Oh... so how would it work to have the mouse as a num pad with num lock off? I would probably be getting a poker 2.
