FWIW, all of them ought to have the same stiff Huano button switches and rather soft, rubbery wheel with a lighter switch.

The switch is the same as in some other mouses, e.g. old Genius NetScroll Optical. It just requires less force than Huano. For me, it was a big surprise that the wheel was actually lighter than the primary buttons.
If you mean scrolling steps, I actually like the scrolling action as well, although it could be smoother.

I haven't encountered such issue so far. Currently using a MiCO, which has the same wheel IIRC.

Damn mauri, that doesn't sound good. I've got the EC1 eVo coming in and I'll hate to get another useless DA2013 wannabe. It seems like they all conspire to make cheap/crappy rodents for gamers now.

If that's true, then why buy an EC1 or EC2 then? I wish I could do a call back with Paypal on my purchase for the EC1 eVo. It looks like another wasted amount of money thrown onto the rodent-crap pile, yet again >:( .

I'm sure there's people out there who don't notice this problem at all. You might be one of them ;D
If so, please let me know because I'm considering an EC1 eVo as well.

Don't get me love, I love the ec, the scroll wheel isn't an issue if you don't use it to do precise actions and you do sorta get used to it.

Most say it happens if you scroll down starting from the front of the wheel; the top mold wasn't designed properly so the wheel tends to lift, causing the issue.

It could feel more solid but nope, not skipping wherever I scroll from. :/

For sure the scroll wheel could be more like ROCCAT's which is the current world-class leading scroller currently made in the world. Shame you can't transplant the ROCCAT scroll wheel mechanism into the body of a EC1 eVo.
I think it would become the BEST mouse ever made thus far. But that's the essence of stuff being made now, they always fail to get 100% perfection otherwise why would you upgrade if the current mouse was perfect?
