Title: [SOLD] POM Jelly *WHITE/CLEAR* Blank Keycap set
Post by: norbauer on Wed, 02 October 2013, 10:07:57
POM Jelly Clear/White Key cap set. 104-keys. $65 shipped CONUS (PM for shipment elsewhere). SOLD!

This is a very cool and rare set here in the States—sort of looks like an array of sugar cubes.

I imported this via an agent on Taobao (it took well over a month). It cost me roughly $70 with agents fees, shipping, etc. But, since the LCARS set was announced, the person I bought it for wants to wait for that set to be made rather than use these.  So I thought I'd put this one up for sale here.

The set is brand new and unused. However, as has been the case with every POM Jelly white keyset I've ever seen (including the whites in the rainbow sets—see my pics in this other thread (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=48295.0)), some of them have a slight yellow tint to them (the non-stepped Caps Lock in particular, as you can hopefully see in the photo). I think this is some kind of technical byproduct of the POM manufacturing process for the thicker keys. I mention this just for full disclosure; I don't think it affects the overall impression of the set very much, if at all.

Of course. Sorry I meant to put that in the OP.

I bought mine through Taobaofocus.com, which I frankly can't recommend. They hit me with a set of shipping charges and fees in a surprise "second payment" that was enormous—if I remember correctly, it was actually more than the item price itself. Their website is also half-broken, ugly, and impossible to figure out! The only reason I used them is because they accept Paypal, and I didn't feel great about giving my credit card number to a sketchy agent half-way around the globe.

group buy

Some kind of group buy for these would be a great idea. Feng has the rainbow sets on eBay, but I've never seen the all-white sets for sale in the US.

Thank you!

I use bhiner.com. I have heard a horror story or two, but they have always been reliable for me.

I used bhiner once it worked out and I used http://mistertao.com/ a few time but had stuff arrive damaged and some stuff missing and they basically said too bad.

When I used bhiner, they sent half my order saying it was the whole thing then expected a massive second payment to ship the rest.  I know WFD had issues with them too.  They're good when nothing goes wrong, but don't expect good customer service if they mess up.
