Here is my 2002 Kinesis Classic PS2 modded to be USB only. Posting the process in next post.

I got the Switchcraft Panel Mount Connector - USB B to A in sweetwater
http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/EHUSBBAB/ (http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/EHUSBBAB/), and ID INNOVATIONS MULTIMODE USB ADAPTER sold by mkawa http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=48030.0 (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=48030.0)

I used the USB adapter intact, so I can replace it later If I wish.

Step 1: open the keyboard:

[attachimg=2]

step 2: remove the cable from the casing, and use a step drill to make a hole until the USB connector fits

[attachimg=3]

step 3: mark the areas for the screws to be drilled
[attachimg=4]

[attachimg=5]

step 4: drill the holes

Now, since the original screws had no nuts, I had to replace with something I already had at hand. Luckily, found some black screws that fit on some type of nuts :)

Step 5: Screw the panel from the inside

Now, the point of no return:

Cut the original PS2 cable, and keep the parts shown

[attachimg=1]

Glue together the ground and black cable
[attachimg=2]

Solder the cables together, only the PS2 cable ones, the others go to the Pedals, and I have future plans for those.
The Laffy Taffy is in top of those pedal cables.

Put it back together, with the PS2 converter. (You can see my cables from doing sordna's palm keys modification http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=26579.0 (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=26579.0))

 :thumb: great use of the adapter. i was hoping people would integrate them into old ps2 boards. the sskrs will all be usb without major controller modification thanks to these adapter chips.

love the laffy taffy :P, but i hope that's actually more hot glue

The only issue I've seen with the adapter is the control of the caps-lock light. other than that, it's perfect (and so small).
The laffy taffy is for my digestion only after the mod is complete :)

Haha, I see the step drill bit is getting plenty use, not just palm keys but also this :-)
