Title: My Q-Pad 85 MX Red has arrived and...
Post by: mini66 on Thu, 03 October 2013, 10:04:38
I have tried the Q-Pad 80 MX Blue recently and I must say the blue LED was easier on the eye than the red LED (or is that just psychological). I found with the MX Red all you need is just the slightest touch on the keys, love it just what I wanted! You all know that anyway but I new to getting a descent keyboard :) There is still a noise when you use the keys (taping) but not as much as the MX Blue. I'm not sure I like red LED but I may get used to it... Anyway that's my findings.

Grats on the purchase!
If you want it quieter you can buy a set of o-rings that go under the keycap and depending on which you buy it will reduce the travel. They have soft ones which provide some shock absorption that will make it quieter and there is one that is stiffer I believe it's the 50A hardness(someone correct if I'm wrong :D).
Good luck :D.

Like what hunter said, a set of orings will dampen that tapping sound, which is the sound of the keys bottoming out. I've never been a fan of red leds, but I guess if you got really distracted by it you can eventually switch them out for other colors as well. Enjoy your new keyboard!

Maybe even landing pads. But I think they would not allow the leds to shine through the keycaps.
