Title: Poker X not working
Post by: IMHB on Thu, 03 October 2013, 18:25:39
Today I just changed my poker x into the aluminum case...but after I used it for around 10 minutes, it stopped working....

I did put a layer of electric tape on the bottom of the case and also put a layer of thin plastic foam between the case and the PCB....now when I plug it in, only the cap led flashes and nothing else works anymore.....

sighhh wondering if this poker is broken or not...

try to switch it back to the original plastic case, so that you can know is the case problem or something else

Look around the USB-jack area. If you accidentally shorted something, it can easily cause that issue (not working after a few minutes) and is harder to tape off since it sticks out some.

Could just be a poor connection with the USB cable. I've had something similar occasionally happen with my poker but just unplugging/replugging it would fix it.

Perhaps you need some electrical tape over the inner sides of the case as well?

I do have the inner part of the case taped...but anyways I fixed this problem...by loosen up the screws a little...

yea I tried carefully when it's connected, if i screw all screws in tightly the keyboard will start just malfunctioning and spazzing all letters at once..but I loosened up them and now they're just fine!

thanks everyone.

Sounds like the CM QFR problem: some cases were overtightened during assembly and had trouble registering some keystrokes until they were loosened a bit.

yes but the thing is, when I took the PCB off from the original poker case, it was screwed in extra-tight....

maybe it's the inner solid design of the aluminum case..because the original case has empty spaces below the PCB while the aluminum case is just a solid plate below it.
