Title: Fixing a bad Alps switch

I'm working on one of the Zeniths with yellow alps that I picked up, fortunately only one switch is dead. I was hoping it would be something simple, like that the contact wasn't closing. But it seems to be closing fine...

Does anyone have any tips when repairing old alps switches? Are there any secrets I should know about? Worst case scenario seems like I should unsolder the switch and replace it with one which is known good. Looks like I need to pick up a new voltmeter... I think I see how the little thing is working, but I I should check out some diagrams just to make sure I know. Thing is that th switch looks so simple that I can't imagine what could fail on these things other than the solder point or the switch contact.

Sounds like you should measure the switch. Could be a broken circuit path too.
