Title: Multi-Keyboard situation.
Post by: concept73 on Mon, 07 October 2013, 07:05:03
As im aware, many of us geekhackers have multiple keyboards, i myself have: HHKB pro 2, Poker II, HHKB Lite 2 and qpad mk85,
I am selling the lite and qpad,

So i will be left with the Pro and the Poker, but what do people use their keyboards for?
Personally i like my Poker for BF3/4, but i prefer my HHKB for everyday typing.

Please let me know your opinions,

Thanks
AvJaB

I buy everyone of them from period to period, I'm still loving them all but I can only choose 1 to use at a time.

^This. Use my QFR (Blues) at home and my Ducky 1087 (Blues) at work.

And my third board I let my brother use. So all three of my boards get use on a daily basis. :)

That is very money well-spent. 100% utilization.

I have two boards on my desk and switch between them. Sometimes I enjoy buckling spring and sometimes topre... Depends on what I'm doing. And it doesn't get boring when you switch sometimes

Oh, and I forget to mention my Model M (which I lent out to MW). So all 4 of my mechanicals get use on a daily (or close to it) basis.

Only my GH60 gets used everday. Another 7 get used occasionally when I set up my retro gaming machine... usually with whichever board is on top/easiest to get out :)) 3 are not assembled yet, and 2 never get used since they don't speak anything I can use with my computers... another 4 have not arrived yet.

I keep all of mine in a closet and use whichever one I'm in the mood for.

I have both of mine on the desk and I swap between them when I feel like it (if I'm just using the computer for browsing the internet or whatever) but tend to use my G80 when I'm typing a document (clears) and my QFR when I'm playing games. I also thought I'd give it a try typing on both of the keyboards at the same time after seeing this thread. An interesting experience.

Filco at work.
Realforce 104UG or IBM 5251 Beam Spring at home depending on whim mostly.  My gaming drive has pretty much disappeared since I got into keyboards but last used was Filco with MX Blues.

I use three or four at various computers at home, I have probably 1-2 backups just in case, and a few at various computers I use at work.

Most of the rest are involved in some sort of project or restoration.

What remains are on my "to sell" list.

Backlit keyboards for home, non-LED ones for work.

Mostly.
