Please note that this is fully a tube amp, not a hybrid amp. Since it's using a 12au7, it should have a gain of 30 (12au7 has a mu of 30).
Of the mods listed, I expect a proper PSU and tube heater will give the most noticeable gains in performance.

Thanks for the info.

damn you, I've been looking for a decently priced tube amp
unfortunately the reviews say that it accentuates the already rich mids and highs of my ATH M50
If I get this I'm going to have to pick up a pair of berns or something
thanks for helping hack my wallet

That's just one users' opinion, it all depends on the sound you like from an amp. Not to mention, because it's a tube amp you can easily swap the tube to another one and change the sound just like that. I say go for it regardless. My roommate with M50's is going to go for it.

Not an audiophile! so is this cool looking thing only good for headphones?
I bloody love it.

this doesn't have a line out right?

Anyone know that the output impedance is? it says 20-600 on their website, so they probably mean the impedance of the pairing headphones, but I would like to know the actual output impedance since my headphones have low impedance.

Although I'm stacking myself a Schiit Modi and Magni very soon, I think I'm going to get this to try simply because it's so cheap!

I was puzzled about the too.
Since the gain is so high, I suspect it won't be very good at low impedance headphones, but those don't need an amp anyway (just an active buffer)
infact, I am pretty sure you need a buffer + attenuator for basically any headphone under about 150 Z. just sayin'

Over now.

Mine came in today, already replaced the tube and IRF630s with IRL530s. Very nice tube amp for the price.
