Title: Key force specifications for the Model M?
Post by: bhtooefr on Wed, 17 December 2008, 17:34:26
I'd actually prefer older specs from the IBM-era boards, but newer specs will work as well.

I do know that the M15's spec is 65g +/- 10g.

It would be nice to find a force graph or datasheet for the buckling spring.
This site (http://mykeyboard.co.uk/keyswitches/) found the activation force of a 92G7454 to be 80 cN.

The US patent (http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?patentnumber=4118611) has a force graph:

Well, that's 70 grams, although that's not necessarily correct for an M.
